…we should not stay away from our assembly, as is the custom of some, but encourage one another, and this all the more as you see the day drawing near…Hebrews 10:25
The Youth Ministry at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church acknowledges the fact that our youth today, no matter what their number is, are the future of our Church. The need to support and uplift them in a way esteemed in the teaching and traditions of our Church is our all-consuming goal.
We gather each Sunday before Mass to have our weekly bible study and to pray for one another. All of them are trained to be acolytes and we build up their sense of service by doing the coffee hour after Mass; helping in the homes of our aged parishioners; wrapping food boxes during Christmas and help in distributing to the needy people of our community; and they lead us during the Station of the Cross during Lent. At the same time, the youth participates in different Diocesan wide activities such the Idaho Catholic Youth Convention and Spiritual Retreats put-up by the Northern Deanery Youth Ministry.
Youth fun day at the church consist of youths making cookies and pizza and enjoying them over by watching movies at the Little Flower Room. Highlight of the Youth Ministry is that once a month, we have a Youth Mass that every kid from the church leads and participates in.
At St. Theresa’s, we may not have the numbers but we strive to have our youth close to the assembly and to our parish family thru Parish sponsored event like the Abstinence Workshop in close cooperation with our churches.
